About American High School

About American High School, Uppsala

The school is centrally located in the Luthagen area. In the autumn, the school will enter its fifth academic year and will have approximately 220 students studying on the Natural Science, Social Science, or Business programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching staff with a strong sense of community.

About the Role

As a teacher, you will teach our students in English. We are also currently looking for teachers in Social Studies, Religion, History, Mathematics, Natural Science, and Biology. If you are interested in teaching multiple subjects, please mention this in your application.

You will be responsible for planning, conducting, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead lessons based on our pedagogical structure, for which you will receive guidance. You will work closely with a dedicated and cohesive teaching team, where collaboration and collegial learning are a natural part of daily life. You will teach in a digital environment using digital learning materials combined with traditional literature.

The position also includes mentorship for a class.

The position is a permanent part-time or full-time employment with an initial 6-month probationary period. Start date August 3, 2026.

Your Profile

For this position, a Swedish teaching license is required, as well as qualifications to teach English at the upper secondary level. Experience teaching English at the upper secondary level is also highly meritorious. You have a strong commitment to teaching and wish to develop the operations together with a strong team of colleagues, and you share our pedagogical view:
