Södertälje Municipality is now looking for companions and substitutes for our operations within VFF (Support and Assistance for People with Functional Disabilities). We offer individualized support according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS), with a focus on strengthening independence, participation, and quality of life for the individual.

As a companion and/or substitute, you will become an important part of enabling an active and secure daily life – whether it involves accompanying individuals to activities, breaking social isolation, or relieving relatives at home. You will be part of a dedicated work group where collaboration, respect, and professionalism permeate the work.

Your responsibilities

As a companion, you are responsible for enabling the individual to participate in community life and social activities outside the home. Duties include accompanying individuals on walks, leisure activities, exercise, or social contacts. The assignment is planned in consultation with the user and carried out within the framework of approved hours.

As a substitute, you are responsible for providing support to children or adults in their homes or immediate environment. The work is shaped based on the individual's needs and wishes and takes place in close dialogue with the user, their family, and relatives.

The position also includes:

• Planning and implementing interventions based on decisions and individual needs
• Documenting implemented interventions in accordance with current guidelines
• Collaborating with relatives and, if necessary, other actors
• Maintaining continuous contact with the operation's administrative assistant regarding planning and follow-up

The work is performed mainly independently and requires responsibility, flexibility, and a professional attitude. Working hours vary depending on the interventions approved for the user and can range from a few hours per month to more regular assignments.

Individuals receiving services are geographically located throughout Södertälje Municipality. Most assignments are in areas with good access to public transport, and in some cases, the assignments are within walking distance.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with people and have knowledge within the disability field. You are sensitive and listen to people's needs and wishes, and you are driving and motivating when needed. You find it easy to create and maintain relationships.

Requirements:

• You are at least 18 years old
• You have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• You have the ability to work independently and take responsibility for your assignments
• You have a professional and respectful approach as well as good cooperation skills
• You are flexible and can adapt to the user's needs and changed circumstances
• You have basic digital competence for documentation and communication

Merits:

• Experience of working within healthcare, social care, or social work
• Education in, for example, the healthcare and care program, child and youth program, or other relevant education
• Experience working with people with disabilities
• Knowledge of or experience working according to SoL and LSS
• Multilingualism

Personal qualities:

You are secure, sensitive, and have a genuine interest in working with people. You have the ability to create trusting relationships and can motivate and support the individual to increased independence and participation in daily life. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and your personal qualities.
