Do you want to make a difference? Do you have experience working with children and young people in vulnerable situations? We invite you to apply for a part-time substitute position with the possibility of permanent employment.
About the Workplace
Retro HVB has been running treatment operations since 1996. We have always been deeply committed to young people who have fallen outside of society, those who lack faith that there is a place and meaning for them, and who see gangs, crime, and drugs as the only path offered to them.
We have seen and continue to see how an increasing number of young people go astray. Every young person we can help regain their hope for the future and dare to trust society gives meaning to our work. Sometimes we may only be able to help a little way, sometimes we reach the end of the journey. The young person, we, and society are the big winners when we succeed.
We are a small treatment home with a total of six places in Björklinge, north of Uppsala. We target young people aged 15–20 whose lifestyles are marked by exclusion. We work structured based on CBT and MI, and we have a low-arousal approach. We also see physical activity as an important part of our treatment philosophy.
We offer daily supervision by the director/operations manager as well as external guidance. We are looking for you who want to contribute your experience and competence to help develop our operations.
Job Description
We are looking for you who are trained as a treatment pedagogue or social pedagogue, with experience working with young people who have chosen a criminal lifestyle, as well as potential neuropsychiatric disabilities. It is an advantage if you also have education in areas such as low-arousal handling, MI, CBT, AP, crime as a lifestyle, and milieu therapy.
The tasks consist of supporting the young people in their individual development based on their implementation plans. You are responsible for helping to structure the day for the young people, accompanying them to various activities and meetings, and promoting good cooperation with the actors in the young person's network. You are also responsible for ensuring that documentation is carried out according to current guidelines. You also need to be able to act as a secure adult role model for our placed young people and have the necessary knowledge required in a normal household, such as cooking, washing, cleaning, etc.
Qualifications
You express yourself easily in speech and writing and master the basics of medical records and documentation. It is required that you have great patience, knowledge of and ability to work in a low-arousal manner, and the stamina to stay calm even when our young people test boundaries. You work in a structured manner and have a professional, solution-focused approach.
A B-class driver's license and a certificate of good conduct (extract from the Police's suspicion and criminal record register) are required for the position.
We look forward to your application!
