As an IT Security Specialist, you will be part of EDIT – The Units for Digitalization and IT at the Civil Contingencies Agency. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to society's information management and preparedness, working in a group of highly competent colleagues within the IT and digitalization field.

Your responsibilities and tasks

You will be responsible for the technical operation, development, and lifecycle management of our SIEM platforms, but you will also have the opportunity to work broadly with IT security in incident investigations, forensic analysis, penetration testing, environmental monitoring, or various IT incident prevention activities.

You will work in a team of security specialists and operations technicians where you will jointly build a robust and scalable platform for log management, monitoring, and incident detection.

Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different applications and technical environments will be of great value in this role.

We have some 24/7 operations, so you may also become part of the agency's emergency preparedness organization.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone with relevant education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways. You have a broad basic competence in IT and are curious and eager to develop specialized skills in new areas. Furthermore, you have experience of operational work within the IT security field, are structured, and communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience of working with incident investigations, forensic analysis, and penetration testing
• experience of log analysis, network traffic analysis, and security monitoring
• experience of working within the public sector

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time employment starting with a probationary period.

Your location will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel is part of the job.

Emergency service duties are part of the work and may become relevant.

The majority of our employments involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. In the event of placement in a security class, a security clearance with registry checks will be carried out prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Civil Contingencies Agency are assigned to wartime duties.

About us

Our IT and digitalization activities currently consist of approximately 60 people within the department for operational support and are located at two offices, in Karlstad and Stockholm.

The Units for Digitalization and IT are responsible, among other things, for the development and administration of the underlying IT infrastructure and create the conditions for tomorrow's digitalization. This includes, among other things, user support, management of hardware, applications, and systems for our users across the entire agency.
