As a Systems Engineer within Identity and Access Management (IAM), you will be part of EDIT – The Units for Digitalization and IT at MSB. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to society's information management and preparedness, working in a team with highly competent colleagues in the IT and digitalization field.
Your responsibilities and tasks
As a Systems Engineer with us, you will have a varied role working with several of our internal systems, applications, and underlying IT infrastructure services. You will ensure they function as intended and meet user needs.
Our application and system environment is highly diverse. Your areas of responsibility may vary over time depending on the requirements we face. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different applications and technical environments will be of great benefit in this role.
We have some 24/7 operations, so you may also become part of the agency's emergency response organization.
Your tasks include, among others:
- Together with your team, you are responsible for ensuring that applications and systems within the IAM area function according to existing requirements and drive actions planned in management and development plans. This includes, for example, installing, upgrading, configuring, and testing the systems you are responsible for.
- Incident management, troubleshooting, and fault resolution.
- You collaborate within your own group, with other systems engineers, end-users, and our suppliers to solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- You independently drive and participate in assignments and development work within the IAM area.
- You contribute to our innovation culture through environmental scanning and continuously work to optimize your area.
- You contribute to developing and managing instructions, routines, system descriptions, and other necessary documentation.
Your skills and competencies
We are looking for someone who:
- has a broad foundational competence in IT and is curious and eager to develop specialized expertise in new areas
- has several years of experience and knowledge in the field of Identity and Access Management (IAM) regarding design, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- has good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- has knowledge of scripting languages, such as Microsoft PowerShell
- has a relevant university education or equivalent knowledge and experience that we consider equivalent
- is structured and can express yourself pedagogically and clearly in writing
- communicates fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience and knowledge of PhenixID's product suite
- experience and knowledge of SAML2 and OpenID Connect
- experience working in an organization with high IT security requirements
- experience working within the public sector
- experience leading assignments or smaller projects

About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.
Your location will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may be required as part of the job.
Emergency duty service is part of the work and may be required.
The majority of our positions involve placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is usually required. For placement in a security classification, a security clearance with registry control will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at MSB are assigned to wartime duties.
About us
Our IT and digitalization operations currently consist of approximately 60 people within the department for operational support, located at two offices in Karlstad and Stockholm.
The Units for Digitalization and IT are responsible, among other things, for the development and management of the underlying IT infrastructure, creating the prerequisites for tomorrow's digitalization. This includes, among other things, user support, hardware management, applications, and systems for our users across the entire agency.
