Are you a leader who wants to take responsibility for and lead the development of the Swedish Pensions Agency's asset management and actuarial operations? We are now looking for a Unit Manager for one of the units within the Analysis Department.
About the job
The Swedish Pensions Agency's Analysis Department investigates, studies, evaluates, and describes the effects of the pension system for pension savers, pensioners, and society. It is also responsible for the Agency's commitments as an official statistical authority and other statistical production in the field.
The department performs forecasts, analyses, and actuarial calculations. To carry out the Agency's analysis assignments, the department has extensive access to statistics and data, as well as several models and other customized IT tools. The department consists of approximately 45 employees distributed across four units: the Data Warehouse and Decision Support Unit, the Statistics Unit, the Investigation and Actuarial Mathematics Unit, and the Asset Management and Actuarial Unit.
The Asset Management and Actuarial Unit employs asset managers and actuaries working primarily with the premium pension system. Asset managers manage assets in the premium pension's traditional insurance and temporary management (funds for preliminary premium pension rights). Actuaries handle the Agency's actuarial activities within the premium pension and voluntary pension sectors by calculating, among other things, technical provisions in the Agency's premium pension operations. The unit also produces reports in the field and is responsible for structural, development, and process issues as well as risk analyses. The unit has a high degree of specialization and currently consists of seven people excluding the unit manager: one chief actuary, three actuaries, and three asset managers.
The role of Unit Manager entails overall responsibility for managing and further developing the unit's operations with a focus on quality, stability, and long-term sustainability. As a Unit Manager, you will also be part of the Analysis Department's management team together with the other unit managers and the department head.
Your profile
You possess excellent personal qualities and proven leadership skills, integrity, good collaboration skills, sound judgment, risk and quality awareness, and a structured approach. You also have the ability to express yourself well and pedagogically in speech and writing, as well as knowledge of quantitative analysis.
As a leader, you apply a coaching, development-oriented, and trust-based approach where strong employee engagement is a given. You can lead qualified specialists and create conditions for both senior and junior employees to develop and contribute. You have the ability to prioritize, make trade-offs, and make well-founded decisions in an operation with high demands on quality and risk awareness. You also actively and constructively contribute to the efficiency and collaborative climate of the entire workplace.
We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic education that the employer deems relevant for the position and the unit's operations.
- Experience in the pension sector.
- Knowledge of actuarial activities and asset management.
- Current multi-year experience as a manager with budget and personnel responsibility.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience from the public sector administration.
