44. Clearance Diving Division

44. Clearance Diving Division falls under the 4th Naval Combat Flotilla and is located in the beautiful surroundings of Skredsvik, Uddevalla. The division's main task is to create freedom of movement for naval combat forces with a focus on coastal and archipelago areas as well as around marine infrastructure, and it can operate both at sea and on land, as well as nationally and internationally. Personnel from the entire Armed Forces work here, not just the Navy, so you will become part of a competent team with a wide range of tasks. There are also opportunities for career development in several tracks.

As a Boat Commander/Driver at 44. Clearance Diving Division, you belong to the EOD Boat Group and become a natural part of the strong community within your own unit and the division. The boat group has a number of different tasks, including transporting the unit's EOD groups to operations, providing close protection with weapons and technical systems, and serving as a platform for the unit's various entities when solving tasks. This takes place in the archipelago, near the coast, or freely at sea. The group's boats are of the RiB type with great possibilities for adaptation depending on the tasks to be solved.

Main Duties

As a member of the boat group, you are responsible for the group's boats and equipment. You must be able to navigate both inshore and offshore at high speeds, in varying weather and light conditions with high precision. Through your training, skill, and safety awareness, you ensure that the unit's groups can be transported to solve tasks.

You will work with, among other things:

  • High-speed navigation
  • Collaboration with the unit's other entities, national and international
  • Weapon service, primarily support weapons
  • Technical service

The Swedish Armed Forces are experiencing strong growth, and the tasks may develop over time.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed conscription/High school diploma with passing grades
  • Nautical license N8
  • Handling of fast vessels (can be equated with trained combat boat driver/commander and/or G-boat driver/commander)

To succeed in the role of Boat Commander/Driver, you must be highly professional, safety-conscious, and possess good seamanship. Great importance will be placed on your social competence, ability to collaborate, and sense of responsibility; as an individual and a team member. You are very important for the group's delivery of results and cohesion.

OTHER

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment as GSS/K (Group officers, soldiers, and sailors with part-time service for 8 years with the possibility of extension up to 12 years, according to the Act (2012:332) on certain Armed Forces employments. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the authority.
