Vocational Teacher in Agriculture

About the Position

We are looking for more teachers for the agricultural education program at Lillerud. Therefore, we are currently recruiting two vocational teachers to teach agricultural subjects in the areas of crop production, farm animals, and agricultural machinery. Please specify in your application which areas your expertise lies in.

As a vocational teacher at the school, you will have extensive access to the farm as a teaching resource. Instructors who are actively involved in the students' education work there. The collaboration between teachers, instructors, students, and management is extensive and constitutes one of our strengths. The school farm covers 420 hectares of crop production, milk production in a newly built barn, piglet production, and sheep production. We have a large fleet of machinery and a workshop.

A significant part of the teaching may take place at the new adult education program in agriculture starting at Lillerud this autumn.

Both positions are full-time and permanent, though a lower employment rate may be possible. Start date: August 10 or by agreement.

About You

You need to have a strong commitment and knowledge within agriculture. We prefer candidates with a degree as a Master of Agriculture (Lantmästare), Agricultural Technician (Agrotekniker), Agronomist, or other relevant education. Good teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize student development are considered important qualities.

A teaching degree and experience in teaching are advantageous, but anyone with the right subject knowledge is welcome to apply.

About Lillerudsgymnasiet

At Lillerud, approximately 270 students study, and we have 80 employees. We offer upper secondary education within the Natural Resources Program with specializations in: horse care, animal care, agriculture, and natural sciences. Lillerudsgymnasiet has a national intake, and about 75% of the students live in the school's student dormitory. This creates a wonderful family-like atmosphere at the school.

Lillerudsgymnasiet is beautifully located 15 km west of Karlstad. The school features a large farm with crop production, cows, pigs, and sheep. We also have a complete equestrian facility with stables, two indoor riding arenas, a riding track, and carriage roads. Various companion animals are gathered in the animal house. The school also has its own veterinary clinic and a dog daycare.
