Job Description

We are looking for a new teacher for grades 5 and 6 at Järvenskolan in Gunnarskog.

Järvenskolan is located 20 kilometers north of Arvika and is a F-6 school with an attached after-school program. Järvenskolan is known for its beautiful schoolyard and has nature right at its doorstep. Here, we take advantage of the proximity to both the forest and the lake in our teaching in various ways.

In the role of a teacher, you are expected to work based on a shared understanding of the organization's mission, where the best interests, needs, and wishes of children and young people are at the center. Through your professional skills and active participation, you contribute to ensuring that each child's and student's entire educational journey is successful.

Your efforts in daily interactions and dialogues with students, guardians, and colleagues are crucial to achieving the goal of equitable education and high-quality teaching where all children and students can succeed. You are expected to take overall responsibility for the results achieved, both academically and socially, and contribute to a safe and inclusive education and teaching environment. With a positive and solution-oriented approach, you work from a holistic perspective on the child's and student's development and learning.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of a teacher, we see that you have:

• A teaching degree with authorization and certification.
• Good knowledge of the Education Act and the curriculum (Lgr 22).
• A valid driver's license (B).
• Good digital competence.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Previous teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a teacher include:

• Planning, implementing, following up, and evaluating teaching based on the school's governing documents.
• Participating in collegial learning to enable co-planning, assessment, and grading.
• Writing reports, individual development plans, assessments, and other documentation.
• Mentorship with regular student/parent contacts, development discussions, and class/parent meetings.
• Participating in systematic quality work and development work based on national and local governing documents.
• Managing school social and unplanned student incidents during, for example, recess supervision and pedagogical lunches.
• Contributing to the development of the school's digital work and integration of digital tools in teaching.
