We are now looking for teachers for after-school care at Kronoparksskolan (https://karlstad.se/forskola-skola-och-utbildning/grundskola/grundskolor/kronoparksskolan).

Responsibilities

As a teacher in after-school care, you will be part of a team together with primary school teachers, after-school care teachers, and student assistants. You will collaborate closely and meet regularly to plan, follow up, and develop the activities. You will work both in after-school care and in school, where you, together with colleagues, provide pedagogical and meaningful teaching that stimulates and challenges students' learning – both indoors and outdoors.

The work is creative, varied, and requires a solution-oriented approach. You will work according to a schedule that covers school hours and are expected to adhere to confidentiality agreements even outside working hours.

In this role, you are responsible for planning and implementing the after-school care's activities in accordance with the curriculum's goals. You will offer creative activities, play, and teaching that promote students' development, curiosity, and learning. By working with both indoor and outdoor activities, you encourage students to take their own initiatives and develop their independence.

You create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where all students are given the opportunity to develop based on their conditions. In teaching, you use varied methods and digital tools to meet students' different needs and strengthen their learning in everyday life.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher with a focus on after-school care. You are a secure and engaged role model who has high confidence in students' abilities and can adapt activities and working methods based on their needs. Together with colleagues, you create a learning and developing after-school activity characterized by safety, playfulness, and our values.

You build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians and design activities that are fun, educational, and stimulate imagination. It is advantageous if you have experience with language and knowledge-developing methods, positive behavior support, and clear pedagogical approaches with structures and routines that strengthen students' independence.

In this role, you actively contribute to a safe and inclusive environment, collaborate with the student health team, and follow the school's equal treatment plan. You also cooperate with teachers and assistants during the school day, participate in planning, evaluation, and collegial learning, and contribute to the school's development work and training.

You maintain good communication with guardians and collaborate with management and colleagues to create a whole in students' school days. The assignment also includes participating in theme days and joint activities, following the school's rules of order, and keeping updated on current guidelines within the school's operations.

Before employment, we will request a criminal record extract, according to legal requirements for work involving contact with children and youth.
