Description

We are looking for a licensed teacher in wood and metal crafts for Rudsskolan (https://karlstad.se/forskola-skola-och-utbildning/grundskola/grundskolor/rudsskolan).

Rudsskolan is a secondary school for students in grades 7 to 9, with approximately 550 students. The school is located in Rud, situated between Färjestadsskolan and Nobelgymnasiet.

Students from several schools, both within the municipality and from other municipalities, come to Rudsskolan. We strive for every student to feel safe and achieve high academic goals. The high achievement levels of previous years are seen as evidence of engaged students and teachers working in good collaboration with guardians.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will teach wood and metal crafts for grades 7 to 9. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating your teaching, as well as grading and assessing students' work. Through collaboration with your subject colleagues, you will develop the crafts subject at the school. You will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to create the best conditions for our students. You will be part of a work team that meets regularly to co-plan and develop the school's activities. Mentorship in a class, together with another teacher, is included in the position.

The crafts subject is not just about creating objects – it also develops fine motor skills, problem-solving, patience, and creative thinking. A good crafts teacher inspires students to see possibilities in different materials and to take pride in their creations.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed and qualified teacher in wood and metal crafts. Previous experience in wood and metal crafts is considered an advantage. As a person, you are a clear leader who organizes your work to create a safe learning environment for students. You are creative, attentive, and structured, with the ability to meet students based on their individual needs. You enjoy close collaboration with others and see collegial learning as a natural starting point for your own development.
