The Police IT Department employs over 1,300 people and is responsible for all IT used by the Police's approximately 40,000 employees. As a member of the Police IT Department, you will be part of an important societal mission and have the opportunity to make a real difference!

Our mission is to take overall responsibility for the development, management, and support of digital tools and applications for the Police's crime-fighting operations. Simply put, we ensure they have the best possible IT support in their work to detect, prevent, and stop serious organized crime both nationally and internationally. We are currently in an exciting and expansive phase where we are developing new capabilities.

Now, we need to strengthen our engaged team with a Solution Architect!

As a Solution Architect with us, you will be a driving force in technology selection and lead the work on developing solutions and architecture for our systems. You will independently and in teams drive and be responsible for the quality of solutions and deliveries. We also expect you to have extensive experience in coding. You are accustomed to complex integrations and understand the importance of meeting both functional and non-functional requirements. You have a good ability to visualize and communicate your proposals and solutions. At the same time, you are able to be humble and open to listening.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

• practiced the role of a Solution Architect, with responsibility for technical direction and solutions in large-scale systems.
• developed new functionality in Java, with a holistic understanding of architecture and code quality.
• worked with design, query optimization, and integration in SQL databases in production systems.
• performed integrations between multiple systems, with a focus on stability, security, and maintainability.
• operated and developed on Linux-based platforms.
• designed microservices with clear interfaces, as well as independent lifecycle management and robust communication.
• the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and tailored to the target audience – both verbally and in writing – in Swedish.

The position requires Swedish citizenship.

Merits

• Experience using Docker and Kubernetes to build, operate, or scale microservices.
• Built APIs for data exposure or service communication, with a focus on usability and stability.
• Used gRPC in practice for efficient communication between services.
• Had leadership responsibility in a development team – formal or informal – with a focus on quality and collaboration.
• Implemented test automation at various levels to ensure reliability.
• Proficient in Linux and enjoy solving problems via command line and scripting.
• Implemented graph databases to manage complex relationships.
