The Finance Department, with its twelve employees, has a core mission to support the municipality's politicians, managers, and employees so they can deliver welfare to our residents. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and be part of the Finance Department within Oskarshamn Municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oskarshamn Municipality is seeking an economist with previous professional experience in municipal finance.

In the role of economist, you will work for one of the municipality's departments, the Social Services Department. You will work closely with the department's operations and managers, playing a central role in driving and developing the department's financial processes, such as budgeting, follow-up, and forecasting.

You will serve as support to managers and the leadership group on financial matters, contributing with analyses and decision-making support. The work also involves monitoring the department's finances, identifying deviations, and proposing measures. You will participate in the municipality's overarching financial processes, such as interim and annual closing and financial statements, in collaboration with colleagues at the Finance Department.

The work requires good knowledge of municipal finance (e.g., reporting, posting, etc.) and an understanding of the importance of deadlines and major financial processes such as budgeting and follow-up. It is also important that you have experience with larger financial systems; the Finance Department works with Raindance. We are looking for someone with good analytical skills who can identify areas for improvement, both in daily work and in the Finance Department's development of financial processes and routines.

The position is located at the Finance Department, and you will report to the Chief Economist.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with at least three years of professional experience as an economist within a municipality. You want to be part of our development journey and perform your tasks with a quality-conscious approach, judiciously and independently. You are meticulous, have good collaboration skills, and can clearly communicate your message based on the recipient's conditions. As a person, you are also attentive and communicative.

We require a university degree in economics or professional experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You must be able to communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working as a controller or departmental economist in a municipality
• Experience with larger financial systems such as Raindance
• Experience with follow-up and forecasting work
