Coordinator for our Medical Transport Unit

We offer a position as a coordinator in our medical transport unit.

In the role of coordinator, you will assess the right to medical transport using service vehicles based on incoming phone calls from our citizens in the region. The role also includes training staff within the health and medical care administrations on applicable legislation and local applications for medical transport. Additionally, follow-up and feedback to departments and clinics will be part of the role. You will also provide support to our customer service regarding their assessments of requests for urgent medical transport.

You will be part of a team of three employees. You will work closely together and support each other. Great emphasis will be placed on complementing each other in terms of knowledge and experience. Personal suitability is highly valued in the selection process.

We operate based on daily phone hours where we handle incoming calls and requests for medical transport with service vehicles. We document our assessments regarding whether a person is entitled to this or not and the basis for this. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to plan your work week in many aspects.

About You

We see that you, as a coordinator, are a social worker or nurse, or have another education at the level of college or university that the employer deems equivalent. In addition to your education, you need to have relevant work experience.

The position requires you to have personal maturity, be confident in yourself, take great responsibility for your work, and be able to plan. It is important to us that our colleagues, partners, and citizens receive a good reception and correct information. You are comfortable communicating information even when it may be unfavorable, and you also have the ability to teach pedagogically and are comfortable giving presentations/training.

You have good communication skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You maintain calm and can keep a professional focus when there is a lot to do. It is important that you can work in a structured way and that you naturally strive for quality in what you do. You are comfortable working closely with your immediate colleagues and supporting each other when needed.

A B driver's license is required as travel will occur throughout the county. You have good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have experience in authority exercises and investigation processes. Experience in assessing health conditions is also seen as an asset.

Our Medical Transport Unit was established in the fall of 2025 and consists of four employees, one of whom works with other tasks. The workplace is located in Oskarshamn. Kalmar County Traffic is part of Region Kalmar County and is responsible for public transport in Kalmar County.
