Queue Handler for Northern Inner City – Temporary Position Autumn 2026

We are looking for a temporary replacement for one of our queue handlers who will be on leave during the autumn.
The position is a fixed-term temporary assignment from September 1st to October 31st, 2026.
Your Role
As a queue handler, you will work with coordination, processing, and follow-up of queue and placement cases for children in preschools for municipal and independent operations, covering around 90 preschools. You will have extensive contact with guardians on various issues and maintain close collaboration with preschool principals. A large part of the work involves service and information to guardians and other professionals in the field. You may also handle debt cases, inter-municipal reimbursements, and invoicing.
The administrative system used for child and student registration is BER (Child and Student Register). Together with your colleague, you will ensure that processing is carried out according to the city's guidelines, where excellent service is the key to success.
We Offer
Your position is located centrally at the preschool department, within the preschool support unit. The unit currently has six employees: a unit manager, an operations controller for child health, a coordinator, an operations controller, and two queue handlers. You will report to the unit manager for departmental support. We work in pleasant premises at Garnisonen, just a few minutes' walk from Karlaplan and close to the beautiful views of Djurgården.
Your Competence and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- Upper secondary school diploma or other education deemed relevant by the employer
- Several years of current experience working as an administrator or equivalent
- Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
- Experience working with BER (Child and Student Register) or other systems for child placement
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with tasks involving queue management and placement of children in preschool or school

Furthermore, you have a flexible and collaborative approach, as well as your own drive and ability to solve problems and plan.
