Information Security Specialist at the Swedish Agency for Trade and Industry

The Swedish Agency for Trade and Industry (Kommerskollegium) is Sweden's authority for foreign trade, trade-related international development cooperation, the EU single market, and trade policy. We work on issues such as EU free trade agreements, opportunities for Swedish companies to import and export, and poverty reduction through trade. At Kommerskollegium, major trade policy issues meet concrete problem-solving for individual companies and individuals. Our vision is sustainable trade without barriers. We are a team of approximately 100 employees working in an activity-based office centrally located in Stockholm.

Kommerskollegium is a growing authority. Since summer 2025, we have also served as a preparedness authority with sectoral responsibility for foreign trade. As part of the administrative unit, consisting of about 15 employees, you will play a central role. The unit provides operational and strategic support in areas such as IT, records management, archives, HR, finance, procurement, office and property administration, legal affairs, and security and preparedness.

Responsibilities

Do you want to work with information security at an expert authority responsible for sectoral preparedness? With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the total defense and strengthen the protection of societally important information.

As an Information Security Specialist, you will develop and practically implement the authority's information security, including technical aspects. You will ensure that information systems meet requirements according to current regulations and contribute to security assessments, risk analyses, and security audits. You will support operations regarding secure information handling and technical security solutions.

The work also involves developing and managing secure communication solutions and ensuring security requirements are considered when introducing new IT systems and digital solutions. You will collaborate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders on security-related issues, follow developments in information security, and contribute to the authority's ongoing security work. Since the authority's IT operations are delivered by the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan), the work is often done in collaboration with an external operations organization. Other tasks within cybersecurity and IT may occur based on operational needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university or college education, preferably with a focus on information security and IT security. Alternatively, we accept other educational backgrounds combined with relevant experience and further training deemed equivalent by Kommerskollegium.

You have experience working with information security according to relevant regulations and standards, as well as knowledge of information systems according to current security protection regulations. You understand IT environments, information systems, and technical security solutions, and have the ability to analyze security risks and translate requirements into practical security measures. You express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience with secure communications (e.g., SGSI and Rakel) or work as signal protection personnel, preferably as a system operator. Experience with security audits, security analysis of IT systems, cybersecurity work, or technical security solutions is also meritorious. Experience working within a government authority is a plus.
