Valsta Health Centre is located in southwestern Märsta in Sigtuna Municipality, with excellent transport connections from both Stockholm and Uppsala by car, bus, or train.
Valsta Health Centre is part of Stockholm County Council's Healthcare Area (SLSO), one of Sweden's largest healthcare providers with approximately 11,500 employees. We are one of seven health centres in the county with a reception for asylum seekers and perform health examinations for newly arrived immigrants on behalf of the Swedish Migration Agency. We have over 20 employees, approximately 4,500 registered patients, and a child health care centre (BVC). We conduct long-term improvement and quality work and have good opportunities for further education.
We are a multiprofessional team with doctors, psychologists, social workers, district nurses, nurses, and assistant nurses. Today we have three permanent specialists and are now recruiting a fourth. You can read more about us at Valsta Health Centre.

Job Responsibilities
As a unit manager in primary care, you have a clear and important assignment. In accordance with SLSO's delegation order, you are responsible for personnel, finance, working environment, and the environment, as well as the overall operational responsibility for the general practice.
Together with the operations manager, you drive the clinic's long-term development and work structuredly with quality, patient safety, and the environment. You contribute to both the development of the operations and ensuring that employees have the right conditions to grow, and you ensure that working methods, routines, and methods maintain high quality.
The assignment as a unit manager implies a present and close leadership, where you are on-site in the clinical daily routine and have frequent contact with employees. You are part of the management group together with the operations manager, the medically responsible doctor, and the coordinator, and actively participate in the overall steering of the operations. In your role, you are responsible for ensuring that guidelines and routines are followed and you work continuously for a good and sustainable working environment.
Qualifications
- You are a licensed district nurse, preferably with leadership experience.
- Leadership and management training as well as previous managerial experience are meritorious.
- Experience in diabetes care and possible further education in diabetes is meritorious.
- Experience with the TakeCare journal system is meritorious.
- You have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing. It is meritorious if you speak additional languages.
Employment Type
You are offered a permanent full-time position in your basic profession. The assignment as unit manager is a time-limited managerial appointment with the possibility of extension. You report directly to the operations manager. A probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.

- Registry checks are applied before a decision on employment according to SLSO's general instructions for registry checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through the occupational health service before employment.
- Requires, in addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
