Akalla School is a two-parallel municipal F-9 school with approximately 535 students and 105 staff members.

Akalla School also includes Järva's regional special education groups.

We largely work with a team-teaching system in grades 1-9. We have opportunities to utilize the large green areas around Järvafältet and Akalla village/farm both during school hours and after school. The school is close to public transport.

We are a multicultural school and strive to use a language-developing approach and methods that benefit our students. We are constantly working to develop our operations to provide our students with the best possible education in a pleasant school environment.

Our school focuses on internationalization efforts that promote the development of both students and staff. Since 2024, the school has been accredited for Erasmus + and has an ongoing project with a school in Spain that includes an exchange trip.

The school actively works with value-based education, including violence prevention, and uses the method Mentors in Violence Prevention, MVP, in grades 4-5 and 7-8.

Job Description

At Akalla School, student health begins in the classroom and in consultation with teachers, which provides good conditions for developing preventive and health-promoting work at the school. Currently, we have a school nurse at 100% but need to recruit a colleague at 40%. Therefore, we are now looking for you.

As a school nurse, you are an important member of the student health team, where your knowledge of risk and protective factors for students' health, social situations, learning, and development is utilized.

You will collaborate with students, guardians, and school staff as well as external actors. Together with the existing school nurse, school doctor, and in consultation with school management, you will be responsible for organizing the medical efforts of student health at the school.

The school management encourages continuing education and there is a well-established collaboration with school nurses at other schools in the region. Regular supervision is offered in the city's network.

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse and have a specialist nursing education in one of the following areas:

• Specialist Nursing Program - District Nurse 75 credits
• Specialist Nursing Program - Child and Adolescent 60 credits
• Specialist Nursing Program - School Nurse 60 credits

You have an empathetic approach and are attentive to other people's emotional expressions and have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation. The role has many contact points and you contribute to a professional and good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. You work systematically towards planned goals for the operation while having the flexibility to adjust your approach based on new circumstances, thereby redirecting your tasks according to changed priorities. Furthermore, you are meticulous and aware of quality standards within the framework of your assignment.
