The Department of Regional Development leads and coordinates efforts in culture, business, and community planning. Through our own initiatives and by supporting others' investments, we contribute to the long-term development of Norrbotten. Our role is to gather resources, knowledge, and actors around common priorities that strengthen the region's competitiveness, sustainability, and ability to manage transitions.

The Unit for Business and Society is responsible for Region Norrbotten's strategic work in business and community development. The assignment is carried out in close collaboration with municipalities, authorities, businesses, and academia, as well as through strategic work, project, and business support.

We are looking for

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to Norrbotten's societal transition by working with energy and industry issues at a strategic level. The role involves following and analyzing policies at the national and EU levels, as well as contributing to the development of the county through increased knowledge, planning, and coordination.

You have a relevant university education and a background that provides a good understanding of energy, industry, or regional development policy. We also prefer that you have experience from working in politically governed organizations or in environments where complex societal issues are handled in collaboration between various actors.

You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. We value your ability to build trust, create relationships, and contribute to constructive processes where different perspectives need to meet.

This is what you will work with

Your assignment includes developing and maintaining networks and collaborating with municipalities, government agencies, companies, universities, and organizations at regional, national, and international levels.

In the areas of energy and industry, you are expected to gather knowledge, formulate common starting points, and conduct dialogues that strengthen the region's collective actions at various levels. The work involves producing analyses and documents, contributing to consultations and strategic documents, and supporting the region's political leadership in preparation for meetings and decisions.

The role involves switching between a broad perspective and more concrete tasks. You are expected to work independently within your area of responsibility but also in close collaboration with colleagues and external actors. It is an advantage if you thrive in contexts where multiple organizations share responsibility and where success is built on dialogue, coordination, and long-term relationships.

Information about the position

The position is a permanent full-time employment, daytime.

Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
