Project Manager for Social Services in Piteå

Piteå is facing significant challenges in competence supply within the social services care and support work. To meet these challenges, the Social Services in Piteå, with support from the European Social Fund (ESF), is running a project aimed at implementing a differentiation model within the care and support work in the department for special housing for the elderly. This means that staff with specific training can focus on their qualified tasks while other roles are created for tasks that do not require the same competence. By clearly distributing tasks based on competence and experience, the operation will become more efficient and the staff will have an improved working environment. As our current project manager moves on to other assignments, we are now looking for her replacement.

Responsibilities

As a project manager, you are responsible for planning, executing, and closing the project in accordance with the project plan and ESF regulations. This includes ensuring that the project meets its goals, that the budget and timelines are followed, and that reporting and communication are handled correctly.

Your responsibilities include leading and coordinating project staff, relevant functions from involved operations, and the project's activities. You actively work to motivate and engage those involved and manage any changes and challenges that arise during the project's course. A key part of the assignment is to communicate the project's progress to relevant parties.

To support the implementation, you have a project group consisting of a project staff member, an economist, and other support functions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant higher education/university education or equivalent experience deemed equivalent by the employer. We prefer that you have training in project management and/or experience leading similar projects. A B driver's license is required as travel may be involved in the position.

As a person, you are structured, systematic, and analytical. You have good communication and collaboration skills, are skilled at leading and involving others in development work or change. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

More about the position

Project employment until 2028-09-30, full-time. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8-17. You will be based at the City Hall, but part of your working time will also be spent at our special housing facilities.
