Fire Engineer at Skaraborg Rescue Service

Skaraborg Rescue Service is a municipal association consisting of the municipalities of Skövde, Lidköping, Mariestad, Vara, Tibro, Töreboda, Hjo, Karlborg, Essunga, Grästorp, and Gullspång. The area has approximately 190,000 inhabitants and an area of about 5,700 km². RESPONSIBILITIES

As a fire engineer in the Prevention Unit, you will be able to work with supervision according to the Fire Protection Act, supervision and permit management according to the Explosive Goods Act, planning and building matters, hazardous activities, Seveso activities, accident investigations, fire technical advice, information to the public, enhanced fire protection for particularly at-risk groups, etc. Depending on your background, competence, and interests, the position will be shaped around you, focusing on preventive work.

There will be opportunities for further education, specialization in various areas of preventive activities, and the chance to lead different types of projects both within the unit and the organization.

If you have the competence to serve operationally, and the organization has a need for this, there may be an opportunity to join one of our command functions with standby duties in the future.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is educated as a fire engineer or civil engineer in fire and risk management. A requirement for the position is that you hold at least a B driver's license. To succeed in the role, you must be able to take responsibility for information and knowledge acquisition in your cases and be comfortable making decisions that can have a significant impact on individuals. You should be able to remain neutral in your statements, actions, and decision-making regarding conditions outside your mandate in the case.

You are analytical and can weigh together information and various considerations. You work well with others and solve problems constructively. Furthermore, you should also be able to work result-oriented and take initiative while having the ability to plan and structure your work to achieve results.

The position also requires that you are clear in your communication and can adapt your communication style to the counterpart. You should also have a good ability to convey your knowledge and experiences to your colleagues and those you meet in your cases. As a person, you can express yourself correctly in speech and writing in Swedish and be an experienced computer user. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

We would also like you to have experience from similar tasks within municipal rescue services or as a consultant.
