JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for you who want to work at our probation office in Skövde in a role focused on security, service, and controls, where client contact is included.

As a correctional officer in probation, you contribute to a safer and more secure society. Your tasks include ensuring secure entry and monitoring clients under electronic supervision, which includes both home visits and workplace visits, as well as various service assignments.

You will also be involved in the technical handling and preparedness for enforcement with electronic monitoring and community service checks. A large part of your working time will be spent with a colleague in a vehicle, as we have large geographical areas to cover. You will work closely with probation inspectors, administrators, and the correctional inspector who is your immediate supervisor. You will work according to a schedule in a team with your colleagues. The schedule includes evening and weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role places high demands on personal suitability. As a correctional officer with service assignments in probation, you need to be secure, stable, and have good judgment. Together with your colleagues, you will plan and carry out the daily work, so you need to be flexible and have good teamwork skills. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You should be both structured and someone who strives to deliver solutions to both technical and practical challenges.

It is important that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You should also be aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that Kriminalvården considers relevant
  • Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
  • Good computer skills
  • A valid driver's license (B) with good driving experience.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Relevant work experience in one or more areas of correctional services, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare
  • Experience in security checks/entry control or other technical work
  • Knowledge or experience in conflict management or client-facing work
  • Other language skills are advantageous.
