We are now looking for an operations manager for the function of Regional Incident Leaders (RIL) who wants to help develop our operational leadership.

Job Responsibilities

As an operations manager for RIL, you play a central role in the development of the function. You lead and plan the work together with engaged colleagues and contribute to creating conditions for an efficient and well-functioning operation.

You contribute to the development, implementation, and follow-up of strategic plans that align with the unit's and organization's goals. Together with employees, you identify development needs, drive improvement work, and work to promote learning.

An important part of the assignment is to work for competence supply. You are responsible for ensuring effective and sustainable personnel planning both in the short and long term, in dialogue with employees. You are also involved in matters related to recruitment and planning of introductions for new employees.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Plan, lead, and follow up the work within the function
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans
  • Identify areas for improvement and drive development work
  • Strengthen collaboration both internally and externally
  • Prioritize and distribute tasks within the function as needed
  • Actively work with competence supply and personnel planning
  • Participate in recruitment and introduction of new employees
  • Contribute to a good work environment and a well-functioning work environment effort
  • Ensure that relevant information reaches everyone in the unit

You actively participate in workplace meetings and in the joint work environment efforts. In the role, it is also desirable that you can act as a relieving Regional Incident Leader or relieving Incident Leader in the unit.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Experience in operational leadership
  • Experience working with administrative tasks and development work within fire and rescue services
  • Good communication skills
  • Good administrative skills
  • Swedish and English in speech and writing
  • Good digital skills and competence
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious

  • Experience from service as IL, RIL, or VB
  • Experience in leadership

We are looking for someone who is structured, collaborative, and communicative. You have the ability to see the big picture while managing the operational needs of the day.

You identify development opportunities, take the initiative for improvements, and contribute to a climate where learning and development are in focus. At the same time, you can combine long-term planning with responsibility for daily operations.

Working hours: Daytime

Other

The working hours are mainly scheduled for daytime, but may, if necessary, be combined with operational shift work. The position is based at the location where the operations are conducted within the Fire and Rescue Service Storgöteborg.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The employment involves military placement within the Fire and Rescue Service and is subject to general service obligation, which means that you are obliged to serve during heightened readiness or war.

Before employment, alcohol and drug tests as well as stress tests are conducted in accordance with the organization's policy and in collaboration with occupational health services. Psychological tests are conducted via Assessio.

The position may be placed in a security class. In such cases, a security review with a background check will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) before a decision on employment is made. For certain security-classified positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
