About the job

As a tax specialist at the competent authority MAP (Mutual Agreement Procedure) / APA (Advanced Pricing Arrangement), you will negotiate and seek agreements with other countries to eliminate double taxation or tax levied in violation of tax treaties (MAP) or agreements on future pricing in transfer pricing situations (APA). The goal is to avoid international double taxation or other taxes levied in violation of Sweden's tax treaties with other countries.

You will plan your own workday and drive your cases both independently and in collaboration with others. You will work closely with your colleagues, providing and receiving support from one another. The work is qualified, and you will learn and gain new knowledge both broadly and in depth. If interested, you can also participate in various improvement and development assignments alongside your regular duties. The work involves many contacts, for example with clients and competent authorities in other countries.

You have flexible working hours, and it is essential for us that you maintain a balance between work and leisure. The job may involve travel within and outside Sweden.

You will belong to the corporate tax department and work in the international unit at the competent authority section 2, located in Gothenburg, Malmö, or Sundbyberg. The section has two workgroups, one focusing on transfer pricing cases and the other on other tax treaty issues.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Investigating MAP cases
  • Investigating APA cases (only within transfer pricing)
  • Presenting Sweden's perspective on cases to other countries
  • Negotiating and seeking acceptable agreements with other countries
  • Implementing the agreements

About you

  • speak and write simply and clearly in both Swedish and English

You should also have:

  • a university degree of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits) in economics or law
  • several years of relevant work experience in international corporate taxation and transfer pricing, or several years of relevant work experience in international personal taxation

It is desirable if you have several years of relevant work experience in the application of tax treaties.

Good to know

The employment is permanent and may start with a six-month probationary period.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision. For some of our tasks in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
