Mediemyndigheten is hiring case officers
Mediemyndigheten works for an open and secure media landscape. We are now recruiting two case officers for the department of permits and media support. Here you will work side by side with engaged colleagues with unique skills and backgrounds. Mediemyndigheten has adapted and pleasant premises near Gullmarsplan in Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm. About the position
Mediemyndigheten is tasked with promoting freedom of expression, media and information literacy, and opportunities for diversity and accessibility in the media field. The authority also aims to empower children and young people as conscious media users, harness their experiences, and protect them from harmful media influence. As a case officer with us, you will be an important part of this societal mission. The role involves independently managing cases that sometimes require complex assessments. You are expected to take significant responsibility for the operations, contribute to the development of our working methods, and actively participate in the analysis of media policy issues. Here you will work in an environment where legal certainty and professional assessments are important, and where your work contributes to people having access to a free and varied media offering.
The main tasks consist of:
- Managing questions about state aid and investigating cases regarding media support
- Independently investigating cases concerning radio and TV operations and publishing permits
- Independently writing decisions and presenting cases internally and at media support committee meetings
- Managing your own areas of responsibility and contributing to the development of the department's processes
- Informing about regulations and practices, communicating with media companies and the public.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who meets the requirements below:
- Academic degree in political science, law, or equivalent
- Several years of current and relevant experience in qualified case management work in the public sector
- Knowledge of state administration and the governance of authorities
- Very good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Proficient IT user with good digital skills
For one of the two positions, we are also looking for:
- Documented good knowledge of Excel
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience in development work within case processes and working methods
- Experience as a presenter for a committee or similar
- Experience working with state grants
- Experience in project work
- Current knowledge in the media field and publishing media in digital environments
- Knowledge of financial reporting
- Knowledge of media regulation
Competencies and personal abilities:
As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and are confident with personal maturity. You have the ability to adapt your approach to the situation, where your demeanor is accommodating and professional with an interest in finding solutions. You take initiative and your analytical ability is strong. Your working method is structured and you work towards goals and results effectively. The position requires a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal abilities.
About the employment:
The position is full-time and a permanent employment with a probationary period of 6 months.
