About the Unit

At the Military Academy Karlberg, basic officer training is conducted for cadets as part of the three-year Officer Program led by the Swedish Defence University. The Officer Program leads to a professional degree of 180 higher education credits and the rank of Second Lieutenant upon employment in the Swedish Armed Forces.

In parallel, the Cadet Battalion conducts military professional training during the so-called Defence Forces time, which includes leadership and individual development, military skills, and physical training. The Cadet Battalion supports the Swedish Defence University in the execution of the Officer Program, primarily concerning exercise planning, safety, and logistics during exercises.

Main Responsibilities

As a staff assistant, you will be part of the battalion's staff. You will support the entire battalion staff, but primarily the planning department. The work includes both simpler and more complex tasks such as orders, bookings, meeting preparations, and administration. In addition, there are good opportunities to have shared responsibility for everything from the battalion's exercises to competitions and physical training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed and approved military basic training
  • Current and relevant work experience in the aforementioned tasks
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing
  • Good ability to handle MS Office

Personal Qualities

The work as a staff assistant requires you to have high integrity and be proactive with good judgment. You are meticulous, unpretentious, and have a service mindset, which also means that you are a good team player. You have the ability to express yourself in speech and writing, are clear and communicative. Flexibility and adaptability are desirable qualities. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities, suitability, and achieved results in previous areas of activity.

Meritorious

  • Driver's license B
  • Previous GSS-K/T
  • Experience in handling the Armed Forces' IT systems
  • Interest in physical training and competition.

Other

Employment type: Temporary position. The temporary position extends during the regular holder's leave of absence, but no longer than until 2029-01-22.
