IT Technician with a focus on IT Security and Networking

Do you want to be involved in developing and driving how the Special Communications Unit (SSE) works with network and security monitoring of our command support systems? We are currently looking for an IT technician with a focus on IT security and networking, based in Enköping.

SSE is part of the Swedish Armed Forces Special Operations Command (FMSF) and has the main task of providing FMSF with command system support competence in the areas of information and communication systems. The unit places high demands on availability, readiness, and accuracy in the work performed.

The Security and Network Operation Center (SNOC) is the central monitoring of our command support systems with associated communication paths, storage, and backup.

Main Responsibilities:

• Alarm and statistical monitoring of networks, services, and systems
• Handling of arising problems in networks, services, and systems
• Communication within FMSF regarding the status of networks, services, and systems
• Independently or partially independently perform changes/actions in various systems/networks
• Monitor ongoing work
• Analyze error messages and statistics to proactively find improvement measures

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process is divided into two parts: The first part consists of practical and theoretical technical moments. The second part consists of a medical examination and psychological interview. The process concludes with a security clearance before employment.

Invitations to tests are sent continuously during the application period.

Qualifications

• Relevant education in IT or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software
• Full hearing
• Normal color vision
• No serious allergies

Meritorious

• Competence in virtual IT systems
• Competence in networking
• Experience in IT forensics
• Experience in Windows-based domains
• Experience working in PowerShell, Python, C#, or equivalent
• Experience in project management and/or production management
• Experience in Linux-based IT systems
• Experience in log management
• Previous work within the Swedish Armed Forces or another government agency
