The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Sundbo outside Fagersta receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse. We are tasked with providing care for young people with special care needs and accept boys who have been sentenced to closed youth care (LSU).
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer position at SiS youth home Sundbo.
As night treatment staff, you are directly subordinate to the unit manager for the night organization during your working hours. You will be on duty during your shift and must remain awake at all times. You are responsible for maintaining safety and fire protection during the night while also supervising the youth.
Other tasks may include:
- Cleaning
- Documentation in the journal system (KAJ)
- Medication distribution
- Assisting with various evening routines and bedtime
- Assisting with various morning routines and preparing breakfast
As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You should have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Driver's license B
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious:
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., probation officer
- Security guard training
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., caseworker at the detention center
- Training in care and nursing
- Experience working with our target group (youth care)

*Exceptions from the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment
As a summer substitute, you are expected to be able to work on a schedule between weeks 25-32. Introduction will take place before the start during weeks 22-24, where both theoretical and practical information will be provided. There is also the possibility of introduction and extra work during the spring and to continue substituting for weeks 33-34.
