Our client in Arboga is looking for girls and boys who are interested in working as personal assistants. The client is a young man, 28 years old, who was born with an intellectual disability and some balance issues, which means he needs help and support with most things in his daily life.

Our client can walk by himself but prefers to use a wheelchair for long walks or excursions in nature. He has type 1 diabetes and uses diabetic aids in his daily life.

He enjoys being outdoors, attends swimming training, and studies communication at LärVux. In his free time, he participates in 'Singing and Music' and rides at the riding school. His interests include YouTube, animals, cars, lively music, and spending time with family. In other words, he is just like most young boys!

Since the client needs support in his communication, it is important that you speak Swedish fluently. Handover between assistants requires good ability to both give and receive information, both written and verbal. We prefer that you enjoy working independently within the team and appreciate order and structure, as well as clear communication.

Role and Experience of the Assistant

Your tasks will involve helping the client in his daily life. This includes being with him at work, school, and during leisure activities. He would like to go for long walks, participate in swimming training, or search for new exciting things on the internet. You will assist him with cleaning/laundry, personal hygiene, and preparing his meals - everything that is part of his daily routine.

Your responsibility also includes ensuring that medications and aids do not run out in the supplies. You will be responsible for daily contact with work, school, healthcare, and other people around the client. It is an advantage if you have experience with type 1 diabetes, but it is not a requirement.

You should speak Swedish fluently, as our client needs clarity. We consider it essential that you are both meticulous and attentive. You are flexible, punctual, and smoke-free. Text, numbers, and documentation should not be a problem for you.

We place great value on personal qualities and maturity. Age is less important as the most crucial factor is having energy and a 'spark in your eye'!

To be able to get to work, you must have a driver's license and your own car. A certificate from the 'Police Criminal Records' is required.

Working Hours/Employment Degree

We have a fixed rolling schedule (Aiai.se) with day, evening + night (sleeping) and weekend shifts. 100%, 75%, or other extent: as agreed. (The position may be difficult to combine with other jobs and assignments.)

Preferred Experience - Special Skills

Personal assistant, 1-2 years of experience.
Assistant nurse or nurse.
Preschool teacher or teacher - for younger ages.
Special competence in intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, or type 1 diabetes.
Life experience, preferably with children.
Ability to take care of a home.

About Employment Conditions

Hourly employment 100%, temporary employment 50% or holiday substitute.
