Traktorgatan group home is located in the Hammarby residential area in Västerås, and we are looking for support assistants for hourly employment over the summer with a chance of extension.

At Traktorgatan group home, five individuals with various intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric disorders reside.

We would prefer that you have experience working with individuals with diabetes as well as knowledge of support signs and visual aids.

As a support assistant, you will work to provide individually tailored support to individuals with disabilities, with the goal of promoting their independence and well-being in everyday life. You will assist the users in their daily routines and activities based on their needs and abilities, always using their personal implementation plan as a starting point.

We work with a salutogenic and pedagogical approach, focusing on each individual's unique strengths and resources. The goal is for the users to achieve as much independence as possible and to live a meaningful life with high quality of life. As a support assistant, you will work based on clarifying pedagogy and low-arousal responses to create safety and predictability in the users' daily lives. At the same time, we have a strong focus on working professionally and efficiently within the resources and budget of the organization.

You are relationship-building, calm, stable, and can maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive manner and enjoy collaborating with others. You are an independent, humble, and responsible person who is passionate about care work and can see the individual's needs.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

• Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

• Good computer skills, experience with documentation.

• Experience working in healthcare and social services.

• High school education such as child and leisure program, healthcare and social services program, or post-secondary education such as support pedagogy, social pedagogy, or university education in a relevant field.

• Experience in psychiatry, AAC, and low-arousal responses.

• Worked with complex support needs.
