We are now looking for flexible and reliable hourly substitutes in Västerås who can cover for regular staff absences - so that our customers always feel secure in receiving the assistance they are entitled to. As a personal assistant, your task is to create conditions for each person to live as independently and meaningfully as possible, based on their own needs, with competence, commitment, and warmth.

Our customers are all unique and have different types of disabilities, needs, and services. The job as a personal assistant can include close personal care, dressing and undressing, assistance during meals, tube feeding, medical interventions, transfers, mobility training, respiratory aids, alternative and augmentative communication, and assistance with leisure activities outside the home. Many of our customers have significant care needs and require active supervision for large parts of the day. An assistant needs to be in the customer's immediate vicinity at all times to ensure safety, security, and well-being.

Many customers lack a spoken language and communicate instead in various other ways; including through body language, facial expressions, eye movements, gestures, and sounds, as well as through aids such as visual supports, sign language, and various digital solutions. Therefore, in the role of personal assistant, it is important that you are attentive, curious, and willing to learn the customer's way of communicating.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is empathetic and has the ability to understand our customers' life situations and who understands the difference personal assistance can make to each individual's quality of life. Important qualities for you to work in our team include the ability to collaborate easily with all individuals, clear and direct communication, being a quick learner, structured, and having the ability to read other people. We highly value your ability to vary between fun, play, and patience, and that you can be yourself since many of our customers are children with a wonderful sense of humor and are motivated by social interaction at their level. You need to have good physical fitness, as the job requires full mobility and strength. It is important that you have a sense of integrity since the work takes place in a family's home, which means you need to collaborate with both relatives, parents, and siblings.

About the position

The position is an hourly employment with one or more of our customers, and we see a great advantage in being able to combine employment with several of our customers with similar needs. This way, there is a greater opportunity to adjust how much you work. An interview will take place with each customer before any employment, as the customer has the right to choose their assistants.

Working hours: Day, evening, weekend, and night (awake night or on-call may occur)

Employment type: Hourly employment

Salary: Fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other compensations according to collective agreement.

Start date: Immediately or according to agreement for introduction

For this position, you are required to:

• Master the Swedish language fluently in speech and writing
• Be smoke-free, as we are a smoke-free workplace
• Experience working with people with disabilities, medical interventions, and knowledge of alternative communication methods is an advantage.
• It is desirable that you have a B driver's license for manual transmission but not a requirement.
• Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability

When working with children

Work with children with disabilities is subject to requirements for background checks according to the Act (2010:479) on background checks of personnel performing certain services for children with disabilities. An extract from the criminal record must be presented as a final step in the recruitment process before employment can be considered.

When working with the elderly or adults with disabilities

Work in the home of elderly persons or adults with disabilities is subject to background checks according to the Act (2026:43) on background checks when working in the home for elderly persons or adults with disabilities. The law applies from March 1, 2026. In support of the law, we as a company have a policy to request extracts from the criminal record in connection with new employment. The background check is conducted as a final step in the recruitment process and is part of our overall suitability assessment.
