Job Responsibilities

As a curator at the Habilitation Center in Köping, your work is independent and varied. You will provide services to individuals who belong to the target groups of the Habilitation Center with the aim of improving their living conditions.

You will assess and evaluate the need for habilitation services for both the patient, relatives, and networks. The services consist of support and treatment in the form of conversations, information, assisting with authority contacts, and collaborating with healthcare neighbors and other authorities. Other common tasks include providing training and consultation to relatives and various staff groups. The work is done in close and good cooperation with other colleagues in the team, and together you will develop proposals for measures to improve the patient's living conditions. About the Workplace

The Habilitation Center is a specialist service within Region Västmanland and is tasked with providing people with disabilities the conditions to live a good life. The goal of our work is to facilitate everyday life and create conditions for participation in society. We offer support, advice, and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities in the areas of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, mobility impairments, acquired brain injuries, and visual impairments. We also provide support and consultation to relatives and close ones. The services we provide complement the support offered by other societal agencies. Collaboration is therefore an important part of our work. Here at Habilitation in Köping, you will work with patients across all diagnostic groups, thus gaining broad knowledge and experience.

In our unit, we are about 25 employees distributed across different professions. We have two unit managers who share the leadership with us, which means they are often available to us in our daily work. We work in functional and pleasant premises that are well adapted to the activities we have. Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a recognized degree in social work. It is an advantage if you are a licensed health and medical care curator. Experience in habilitation work and/or other work with people with disabilities is seen as positive. It is also advantageous if you have previous experience in parent-supportive interventions and conversations with an interpreter. We would like you to have previously led group activities and conducted training, as well as having good awareness of the social field. You should have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You are secure, stable, and flexible, and easily adapt to new circumstances. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your work effectively while also working well in a team with others where you contribute constructively. You are eager to take your own initiative for activities and achieve results, while also being good at prioritizing your areas of responsibility. You communicate clearly and are engaged in both individual meetings and in larger groups. The work is flexible, and besides visits to the clinic, some work will take place in the person's local environment, which may involve home visits, visits to preschools, schools, workplaces, or other locations. We therefore require a B driver's license.

Employment Conditions

Permanent, full-time, daytime. Start date by agreement.
