Familjecentrum is looking for 6 Family Guides
With the new social services act in place, Familjecentrum now has the opportunity to build and develop a completely new preventive work and a more accessible social service, and we are now looking for 6 family guides.
This is a job for you who enjoy working outwardly, building relationships, and collaborating.
Your Responsibilities
Initially, we will start with a project led by a project manager and steering group. To kickstart the work, we will begin the project in two pilot areas. The project manager and steering group are responsible for follow-up.
In order to offer the earliest possible support to parents and children, we strengthen the presence and preventive work in the pilot’s neighborhoods. At the same time, we develop internal collaboration within social services regarding families, with the aim of strengthening trust in social services' support and assistance efforts.
In this role, you will work proactively, motivate, and engage parents and families at an early stage and offer conversations. As a family guide, you are a link between Familjecentrum, the individual and family reception for children and youth, outpatient care, and other services to deliver the right support. You will be close to preschools and schools, building relationships and trust. You will also guide families to the support and assistance available within the city.
Collaboration is a cornerstone of our operations, and you will also collaborate and develop preventive measures in the neighborhoods. Important partners include preschools, schools, leisure clubs, associations, religious communities, and civil society. You will build good relationships and cooperation to increase dialogue with residents in the relevant neighborhood and to reach groups we do not already reach.
Your Qualifications
You have a degree in social work or behavioral science, or another similar academic education. You have experience in collaborative work, and if you have also worked proactively and initiated new forms of collaboration, that is a plus. Flexibility and good adaptability are central qualities, and you see opportunities in change. Your interest in working developmentally and your ability to think creatively and innovatively are prerequisites for thriving in the role.
You are confident in your professional role and have experience in supportive conversations and guiding families/parents. In meetings with parents, you are attentive and have the ability to adapt your communication to the challenges and support they need. You work solution-focused and enjoy driving your own work forward.
If you have language skills beyond Swedish, that is valuable. It is also meritorious if you have experience in parent education such as ABC, KOMET, TF, or ÄFT. If you have a B driver's license and are comfortable driving, that is also a positive.
Some evening work may occur.
Ongoing interviews during the advertising period may be relevant, so do not wait to submit your application.
Warm welcome to submit your application!
We Offer
You will work in a cross-professional team together with other colleagues within Familjecentrum. Here you will have inspiring tasks in a non-prestigious environment where there is never far to a colleague who can answer questions or provide support. We are located in seven different neighborhoods in Västerås, and we are a dedicated team with high competence that has a great opportunity to make a difference for the city's parents and children.
Here you will be part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues throughout the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
