Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund is a municipal federation responsible for conducting and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4000 students and 600 employees distributed across our five schools.

Jenny Nyströmskolan is one of the upper secondary schools in Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund and has over 900 students distributed across six different national programs and five introductory programs. Within Jenny Nyströmskolan, there is also an adapted upper secondary school. We are a forward-thinking school with an open climate that believes in both you as a teacher and our students.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a teacher to teach core subjects in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Bakery (HRB) program at the adapted upper secondary school. It is a vocational program for students with intellectual disabilities. Upon completion of the program, students should have knowledge for work in areas such as service, cooking, and baking, as well as handling fresh produce and food.

We are looking for someone with a broad background in the restaurant, bakery, and hotel industry with skills in both cooking and baking as well as service. You possess knowledge in food handling, nutrition, special diets, and responsible alcohol service. You can convey the importance of good customer service, develop students' professional language skills, and inspire them to reflect on how culture and trends shape today's hospitality industry. Students have at least 22 weeks of workplace learning during their four-year education.

This is teaching at a level equivalent to middle or high school. Instruction takes place in smaller student groups, and you adapt the teaching to each student's individual needs and circumstances. We are looking for a flexible, creative, and solution-focused teacher with a positive attitude. We offer a meaningful and developing workplace with engaged and competent colleagues.

As a teacher with us, you are a clear pedagogical leader in the classroom and support students in their learning with safety and structure. You also have a middle leadership role with the pedagogical assistants present in the classroom. We are looking for someone who creates a conducive learning environment through structure. You ensure that lessons start and end on time. With a clear thread and prepared aids, you make it understandable for all students what needs to be done and why. You make learning accessible, adapt your language, and use visual support (schedules, images, videos). You give instructions in clear steps and ensure that all students understand what they need to do. You are close to the students, support them in the startup phase, and encourage every progress. Through a relational approach, you motivate students and ensure they can function as learning resources for each other. You facilitate horizontal communication among students. You have a ready plan to help students who need extra support to get started, as well as challenges prepared for students who finish quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Teaching certification is required.

Before an employment offer is made, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record for work in schools must be presented.
