GIS Expertise Wanted at the County Administrative Board

The position is located at the Community Development Unit. You will be part of a team of urban planners, archaeologists, building conservationists, gender equality, climate, and energy strategists. We also work cross-sectorally with several other areas within the County Administrative Board. Our work includes developing planning materials and providing state planning documents, guiding and collaborating with municipalities in physical planning, compiling information, and analyzing various aspects important for the county's development.

Job Responsibilities

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are important for large parts of the County Administrative Board's operations. The position serves as a bridge between the overarching government work with GIS and the Community Development Unit's operations where geodata plays a crucial role. Your role will be to make, coordinate, and structure geodata available from various planning documents, and you will also be the County Administrative Board's local coordinator for Planeringskatalogen.se. The work involves understanding and supporting your colleagues in the Community Development Unit on how GIS can further contribute to the operations, as well as assisting the agency's GIS coordinators across the entire agency. Common tasks include:

• Updating, managing, and providing mapping services (webGIS, StoryMap, Planeringskatalogen) and geodata based on the needs of the operations
• Developing and promoting further use of geodata primarily related to community planning, cultural heritage, and climate and energy issues
• Assisting with expertise in community building issues with a focus on planning materials
• Assisting the agency's GIS coordination in the work with GIS and geodata
• Promoting effective use of GIS as a working tool in the Community Development Unit through training, advice, and support.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has good knowledge of ArcGIS Pro through education or work experience
• Has education and/or work experience from the community building process relevant to the tasks.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

• Experience in collaboration and coordination, project management, and pedagogy
• Experience working with storymaps
• Experience providing planning materials
• Experience managing geodata
• Driver's license (B).

The County Administrative Board has high demands for handling its geodata in an information-secure manner, and you need to be meticulous and work in a structured way.

Conditions

The position is a fixed-term employment just under a year with a possible extension and will involve a security clearance before taking office.
