Job Responsibilities

As a leader at Djuprämmen's camp, you will be responsible for youth aged 13–16 years. You will plan, implement, and lead activities for the participant group. The camp operates around the clock, meaning that both youth and leaders live and spend time together throughout the entire period. In the role of a leader, you will live and work at the camp alongside the participants, so you need to feel comfortable being away from home for at least six weeks.

A central part of the role is to meet the needs of the youth and act as a support in their daily lives and decision-making. To thrive in this role, you need to be confident in yourself and your leadership, as well as able to set clear and consistent boundaries. You should also feel comfortable discussing life issues and personal development.

The work has many similarities to the school environment, where there are demands to combine structure and boundary-setting with the ability to create good relationships. The goal is to build a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Experience

We would like you to have a strong interest in outdoor life or experience in outdoor education, as a large part of the activities are conducted outdoors. Experience working with children in middle school age is an advantage, as the role requires both clear boundary-setting and the ability to build relationships. If you have worked with students in elementary school, you have good prerequisites for succeeding in this role.

Examples of activities during the summer include hiking, raft building, climbing, swimming, and outdoor cooking. We also offer creative activities such as theater, dance, and singing. Additionally, we organize disco, football tournaments, and various theme days.

About the company

Utepedagogik Sverige AB operates camp activities at several different campgrounds throughout Sweden for children and youth aged 9-16 years, focusing on adventure and outdoor educational activities. The cornerstones of Utepedagogik Sverige AB's pedagogical camp activities are safety, quality, security, and community, as well as having trained adults with a broad competence serving as good role models. Employment Conditions

The position is a full-time job. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the camp in Värmland from April 30 to May 3, and June 6 to 11. During the summer, you need to be able to work and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period from June 12 to August 16.
