The Education Administration is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, leisure centers, high schools, and adult education.
The Multicultural Unit is responsible for mother tongue instruction and study guidance for newly arrived students in Sigtuna and Knivsta municipalities. In our operations, we place the student at the center, focusing on strengthening the student's identity and promoting their knowledge development based on their mother tongue. We work for a safe and open atmosphere where everyone dares to express their opinions, present their ideas, and try new approaches. In trust, children/students, parents, and staff collaborate on equality, democracy, and everyone's equal value.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Mother tongue instruction in Finnish as a first language and Finnish as a second language at several primary schools in Sigtuna and Knivsta municipalities. The teaching will be conducted in heterogeneous groups from grade 1 to grade 9.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a mother tongue teacher in Finnish and have documented experience in mother tongue instruction in primary school; pedagogical education is considered a strong merit. You should be well-grounded in Lgr 22 and able to work with digital tools in teaching to promote learning. You have a good ability to adapt teaching based on students' language levels.
As a person, you are engaged and solution-oriented and want to contribute to good language development for our students. You enjoy working with children and young people and can build good relationships with both students and their parents. You have the ability to see the whole picture, plan and structure your work, and contribute a positive attitude within the staff. You can work independently but also collaborate closely with others. You are a secure adult, have good communication skills, and want to develop in your teaching role.
The position is part-time, approximately 60-80%, with the possibility of extension in the future.
