Job Responsibilities

As an assistance officer, you will investigate, assess, and decide on interventions according to the Social Services Act. You will follow up on approved interventions towards both the individual and the provider. We are committed to having a legally secure administrative practice, resource awareness, and a holistic view of our users.

The work includes collaboration with several actors both internally and externally, contact with individuals, and cooperation with colleagues, relatives, and other actors within the field.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another equivalent university education with a social focus, as assessed by the employer.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • experience in administrative practice and social work
  • knowledge of structured investigation and follow-up methods such as IBIC or BBIC
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Since the job involves documentation, it is important that you can express yourself in speech and writing, are accustomed to working in operational systems, and have a good ability to focus on the individual's needs while following laws, regulations, and practices. More about the Position

The application concerns two fixed-term positions, a 11-month temporary contract, full-time (100%) with a start date according to agreement, and a probationary period may be applied.

About the Workplace

The Social Services is one of the municipality's seven administrations. Our common mission is to create welfare and sustainable community development. Together with the residents of Piteå, businesses, and associations, we are developing Piteå into an even better place to live, work, and thrive.

The department En ingång within Social Services is divided into two units, Administrative Practice and Support for Livelihood. Within both units, we actively work to provide individuals with the support they need to live as independently as possible.

Our unit consists of 16 caseworkers/social workers, a housing coordinator, and a unit manager. The administrative group consists of two teams, the Assistance Team and the LSS Team. The Assistance Team works with administrative practice according to the Social Services Act, SoL for individuals over 65 years old and is tasked with investigating and assessing needs as well as following up on interventions, in accordance with the management's applicable guidelines, delegation order, and legislation.
