Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential environments close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life as well as good conditions for outdoor activities and recreation. The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region's municipal association, which is a forum for cooperation and exchange of experiences, as well as several other inter-municipal collaborations.

The municipality is organized into an administration with four sectors. The Social Services sector includes four operations: Special housing/municipal health and medical care, Ordinary housing/personal assistance, Disabilities, and Individual and family care.

The Family Support Unit is part of Individual and Family Care in Stenungsund; this unit includes Family Counseling. The unit also consists of family therapists and parent advisors, who work with both assessed and non-assessed interventions. The unit also includes the coordinator and parent supporters of the Family Center, Crime Prevention for children and youth, and the school social workers in the newly started School Social Team. We are in an exciting development phase to shape the future social services into a more accessible, preventive, and knowledge-based service. For family therapists, parent advisors, and school social workers, there is ongoing active work to further develop our assessed and non-assessed interventions. Family Counseling actively works on increased accessibility and intensified outreach efforts.

One of our family counselors is retiring, and we are now looking for a new family counselor. You will be one of the four family counselors serving Stenungsund, Tjörn, and Orust. You will belong to a competent and stable workgroup that recognizes the importance of managing the role of family counselor while new working methods are tested and built in collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Family Counseling in Stenungsund is a counseling reception aimed at adults living in Stenungsund, Tjörn, and Orust. The reception is located in Stenungsund and operates in collaboration between the three municipalities. We cater to individuals, couples, and adult family members facing difficulties in their love and family relationships. We offer therapeutic conversations that can contribute to change, and individuals can come to us as individuals, couples, families, or participate in our group activities. Through conversations, we contribute to processing cohabitation problems and conflicts. The fundamental idea of our family counseling is to offer our residents relationship treatment to counteract destructive family relationships and contribute to good growing conditions for children. We strive for an inclusive approach, regardless of cultural and sexual identity.

The operation conducts qualified change work. We recognize the importance of working preventively and outwardly in close collaboration with other actors, both internal and external. We actively work to develop our services to meet current needs, and new working methods are tested and built in collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of family counselor, you should be curious, brave, empathetic, and attentive. You should be responsible, independent, and have a good ability to build relationships, and you need to see opportunities in changes.

You who apply are a social worker or have another relevant education that is deemed equivalent by the employer. You should at least have a basic psychotherapy education (step 1) as a supplement and preferably be a licensed psychotherapist. You should have experience in therapeutic work with families, couples, or individuals, preferably from family counseling. We would like you to have a systemic theoretical foundation with a salutogenic approach. You also need to be good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work.

Your personality and your previous work experience in the field are of great importance. The work places high demands on your ability to work independently, collaborate in a small workgroup, and work outwardly in collaboration with our partners.

You master the Swedish language at a very good level in both spoken and written form.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
