Description

We are looking for a committed and development-oriented family therapist to join our team at Ung Hisingen.

The work is conducted in the Hisingen area. The job includes close collaboration with various authorities and stakeholders to effectively reach out to young people at risk of social exclusion, crime, violent extremism, and negative gang formation. One of the goals is for the youth to experience reduced social exclusion and to be motivated to change their risk behaviors.

Responsibilities

The treatment team consists of three family therapists. The team is aimed at children and youth at risk aged 12-16 years and their families. As the team is in its startup phase, we would like you to be engaged in developing the operations and interested in contributing to a good structure. The new team will work on behalf of the social services with qualified psychosocial treatment interventions. Treatment work with the youth and their family forms the basis of the daily work. The role of the family therapist requires creativity and the ability to engage actively in the youth's own arenas. The starting point will be to work intensively with relatively few youths per therapist. In this significant role, you will work with youth and their families to create safety and positive changes in their lives. We believe that every individual has potential, and through your work, you will inspire and support them in their personal development.

You will work with youth where there is high concern. It often involves complex issues, and we aim to offer flexible and intensive solutions with the goal that the youth can remain at home and reduce the concerns surrounding them. The work will be based on various evidence-based methods and will take the form of social pedagogical work, child and youth conversations, coaching of parents, and family discussions. You will work in the family's own arenas as well as in the social services' premises.

The work will also focus heavily on activating and strengthening both the private and professional networks. The intervention may vary depending on the needs, which may require work in the early mornings and evenings. To succeed in the work, emphasis will be placed on the team having the opportunity to work for good cohesion and to see the families as a shared responsibility.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work or equivalent and documented experience working with families and youth in need of support. We are looking for someone who is socially confident and enjoys working in a team, and who has the ability to build relationships with both children and adults. We also see that you have strong communication skills and the ability to create trust with families and youth.

In this role, you are expected to work two evenings a week.
