The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog receives non-compulsory school girls with psychosocial issues, substance abuse, and self-harming problems. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable individuals? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients residing with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life flows smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The job may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable individuals in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications for Treatment Pedagogue

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

• A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) focusing on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent degree from a university that we assess as comparable
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish language skills in speaking and writing

Qualifications for Treatment Assistant

You should also have:

• Completed high school education
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work within psychiatry or LSS care
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish language skills in speaking and writing

Employment:

We are looking for both permanent employees and temporary positions.

Start date according to agreement.

Probationary employment will be applied.
