Do you want to be part of building a new multimodal pain rehabilitation service in Region Skåne from the ground up? We are now looking for practitioners with behavioral medicine expertise for our newly established clinics in Kristianstad, Malmö, and Helsingborg. Starting April 1, we will launch three clinics for multimodal pain rehabilitation at the primary care level (MMRpv) under the region's management, with the task of gradually developing and shaping the service over time.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the service from the ground up. You will work in a team-based approach alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and medical secretaries, where collaboration between professions is a central part of the mission. Treatment primarily takes place in group formats, focusing on structured, evidence-based, and person-centered interventions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Multimodal pain rehabilitation aims to improve function in individuals with chronic pain by developing better coping strategies and enhancing quality of life. It is a team-based and structured form of rehabilitation. You will work from a behavioral medicine and biopsychosocial perspective as part of the team. Treatment methods are based on knowledge of pain physiology, sensorimotor function, behavioral medicine, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). All treatment occurs in groups of approximately six to eight participants.

Your role in the team includes:

• planning and implementing group-based interventions focusing on behavior change, pain management, function, and quality of life
• patient education and lectures on body awareness, as well as supporting patients in managing their daily lives based on their own conditions and acceptance
• promoting, preventive, and remedial group discussions with a solution-focused and acceptance approach
• participating in the planning, establishment, and implementation of action plans to achieve rehabilitation goals
• providing advice on issues related to life situations, relationships, stress, and mental health related to pain experiences
• working with motivational and guiding conversations regarding patient participation in their rehabilitation.

An important part of the mission is to assist the service with supervision and consultative support to the teams regarding psychological treatment principles, behavior change, and a common professional approach. You will also participate in development and quality work within the service.

As a practitioner, your primary placement will be at one of the clinics in either Kristianstad, Malmö, or Helsingborg, and in your application, you should indicate which location(s) you are interested in. Travel between locations may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates with relevant higher education in psychology, social work such as healthcare counseling, or behavioral science. You also need at least basic psychotherapy training in CBT (level 1). Experience with conversation methodology and work with behavior change and motivation is also required. You should be accustomed to working with group therapy and have a good understanding of group processes.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• pain rehabilitation and the biopsychosocial approach
• rehabilitating patients with chronic pain
• interprofessional teamwork
• a rehabilitation coordinator role.

If you have training in ACT or other evidence-based methods relevant to chronic pain, that is also advantageous, as is knowledge of pain physiology.

You are engaged, structured, and have good collaboration skills, while also being confident in your professional role and able to work independently. We also value that you enjoy working in a team.
