Engaged Lymph Therapist Wanted for Cancer Rehabilitation Clinic

Are you interested in a varied and developing job? Do you want to work in a workplace that continuously strives to achieve goals regarding accessibility, patient safety, equal care, and a good work environment? Then this might be the position for you!

The Cancer Rehabilitation Clinic is part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and provides rehabilitation for adult patients who are being treated, have been treated, are cared for, or are being followed up medically. We strive to be a knowledge center for cancer rehabilitation and to contribute to the development in the field through research, education, and supervision.

Cancer rehabilitation aims to prevent and reduce the physical, psychological, social, and existential consequences of cancer and its treatment for the patient. The rehabilitation should, based on the patient's needs and wishes, provide support and conditions for the person to live a good life.

At our units in Lund and Malmö, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, lymph therapists, psychologists, and sexologists work closely together. We offer treatment and rehabilitation both individually and in groups. The national care programs for cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema are our starting point in our work.

We also continuously work with structured improvement efforts to achieve goals regarding accessibility, patient safety, equal care, and a good work environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an engaged lymph therapist who wants to be part of our team and contribute with their expertise in working with patients affected by lymphedema due to cancer treatment. We also accept patients with primary lymphedema.

The role includes assessment, treatment, and follow-up of patients with lymphedema. The work is done in close collaboration with other lymph therapists and other professionals within our cancer rehabilitation clinic.

The job responsibilities include assessment, fitting, and follow-up of compression materials, providing information about the lymphatic system and causes of lymphedema, as well as advising on self-care, skin care, exercise, and lifestyle factors. The operations follow regional and national guidelines for lymphedema.

The working hours are Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed healthcare professional or trained nursing assistant with a focus on acute care/healthcare according to the previous program structure, or a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations.

For you as a nursing assistant, good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement.

For you as a licensed healthcare professional, Swedish language skills at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required.

Regardless of profession, we want you to have an approved lymphedema therapy education.

Experience working in cancer rehabilitation or similar assignments is an advantage.

We are looking for an engaged, unpretentious, and innovative person with a good overall perspective who wants to contribute to the development of future cancer rehabilitation. Furthermore, the work requires structure, independence, and accuracy, as well as a well-developed ability to collaborate. Additionally, a solution-oriented attitude, the ability to set boundaries, and to ask for help when needed are important qualities. We also see that you have a professional approach to patients and colleagues based on our values of welcoming, driving, caring, and respect. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, continuous selection is applied. We warmly welcome your application today!
