IT Project Manager at MediCarrier

MediCarrier is the logistics and transport company for healthcare in the Stockholm Region.

Our mission is significant for the daily lives of nearly a quarter of Sweden's population. Every day, all year round, we create the conditions for our colleagues in healthcare to perform their work. By ensuring that important blood samples are transported for analysis and that products such as test tubes, surgical materials, and protective equipment are always available, we contribute to the healthcare of the Stockholm Region. It is a responsibility that is not always noticed but is crucial for healthcare to function safely and securely. Without the right conditions at the right time, healthcare stops.

At MediCarrier, you are part of a socially important mission, right in the daily life of healthcare.

We are looking for an engaged and experienced IT Project Manager

We are looking for an engaged and experienced IT Project Manager with a solid background in change management who wants to help drive MediCarrier's digital development.

About the role

MediCarrier is on a strategic change journey that includes both small and larger initiatives, such as the development and procurement of a new system landscape, lifecycle management of existing IT environments, and projects for increased warehouse capacity. At the same time, the daily operations must function stably and efficiently. This means you will be involved in both developing new solutions and managing what already exists.

As an IT Project Manager, you will play a key role in our change journey. You will lead projects and assignments of varying sizes and complexity – from planning to implementation, follow-up, and closure. You are responsible for the timeline, budget, and delivery.

You will lead projects according to the Projektil methodology and ensure structure, governance, and clear reporting. The role involves close collaboration with the business, IT, suppliers, and other stakeholders. You will drive multiple parallel initiatives where changes need to be quickly implemented in practice.

To thrive and succeed in the role

You are a confident and clear IT Project Manager who combines structure and analytical ability with decisiveness. You work methodically, have a holistic perspective, and ensure that projects are driven forward with good quality and control.

You have experience leading both smaller and larger projects from start to finish and are accustomed to working in complex environments with many stakeholders. You understand how systems, infrastructure, capacity, and networks are interconnected at a high level and can translate technical questions into business benefits.

You focus on achieving set goals and can switch between strategic holistic perspectives and operational work. You are communicative and relationship-building and find it easy to build trust with both the business and external suppliers.

The role requires you to be change-oriented and have the ability to create understanding of IT and change at all levels of the organization. You handle resistance constructively and support the organization in implementing changes in practice. You thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple parallel initiatives and can adapt when conditions and priorities change.

As a person, you are

  • Structured and analytical - you create order and clarity in complex contexts
  • Results-oriented and responsible - you drive work with quality and control
  • Relationship-building and communicative - you create engagement and participation around common goals
  • Confident and clear - you lead project teams and stakeholders with structure, trust, and direction
  • Flexible and unpretentious - you switch between strategic, tactical, and operational work

Your personal qualities are important for success in the role.

Requirements for the role

  • At least five years of documented experience leading IT projects through the entire project lifecycle
  • Experience with established project methodology (e.g., Projektil)
  • Experience in change management in organizations where many stakeholders are affected
  • Good technical understanding and ability to translate business needs into IT solutions
  • Very good communication skills in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • experience from the public sector
  • experience from logistics, warehouse, or transport operations
  • knowledge of AOM, WMS, or TMS (Opter)
  • relevant education in project management
