Digital Strateg at the National Museums of Maritime, Transport and Military History
The National Museums of Maritime, Transport and Military History work with cultural heritage with the vision of broadening people's worldview through knowledge, experiences, and engagement.
The authority has a well-integrated sustainability effort and also wants to inspire others to act for a sustainable future. We are a museum authority that operates and develops the Maritime Museum, the Maritime Historical Museum, the Vasa Museum, the Wreck Museum, and the Railway Museum. From January 1, 2026, the military historical museums, the Army Museum and the Air Force Museum, will also be part of the authority.
We have exciting development work ahead of us as the authority grows in 2026. We will continue to develop a culture and working methods where people and ideas have room to grow while building a common culture with shared working methods in a new organizational structure within a larger authority. We are developing an effective collaboration culture characterized by trust, curiosity, and accountability. A culture where we get better together!
About the Position
We are looking for a digital strategist who wants to take collective responsibility for the authority's long-term development in IT and digitalization. The role is strategic and advisory and involves creating direction, making conscious choices, and prioritizing efforts that strengthen the authority's mission to preserve, develop, and make our maritime and military historical cultural heritage accessible.
You are a central actor in the authority's work to develop culture and working methods where digital solutions and digital maturity are prerequisites for an effective collaboration culture. In close collaboration with management and operations, you ensure that the digital development is cohesive, long-term, and translated into concrete priorities and choices.
Your main task is to develop and maintain the authority's strategic direction in digitalization and ensure that it is translated into priorities, working methods, and concrete results in operations. This means that you:
- analyze the needs of the organization and identify opportunities and risks related to digitalization and new technology

- contribute to the governance and prioritization of the IT and digitalization portfolio and provide strategic support to management and operations
- bring strategic competence to procurements through requirements specification, evaluation, and follow-up
- coordinate overarching issues within system management, information management, and IT security and act as project leader at a strategic level
- Drive the development of digital working methods and forms of collaboration that enhance efficiency, trust, and maturity in the authority
The role entails a clear overall responsibility for the authority's digital development. You move effortlessly between strategy and operational reality and ensure that decided directions are implemented and lead to actual results in technology, working methods, and culture.
With us, you will have the opportunity to help shape how a modern museum authority utilizes the full potential of digitalization. You will have the space to educate and inspire colleagues and contribute to strengthening the digital maturity of the organization. Through the possibilities of technology, you will help develop how our visitors encounter history – both in our unique arenas and in the work of preserving and making cultural heritage accessible for the future.
Your Competence and Experience
You should have:
- relevant higher education, for example in IT, informatics, business development, or economics, or experience deemed equivalent
- at least three years of experience in strategic work within digitalization or business development
- experience working closely with management and supporting decision-making at a strategic level
In addition, you have a good knowledge of IT governance and digital transformation as well as a good understanding of information security, architecture, and system management in complex organizations. You have the ability to see the big picture, identify strategic choices, and formulate long-term strategies. You communicate complex issues in a clear, structured, and trust-building manner.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Knowledge of public procurement
- Worked as a project/process/assignment leader
