Svenska kraftnät's headquarters is located in Sundbyberg, but we also have operations in Gothenburg, Västerås, Sundsvall, Luleå, and Sollefteå.
About the Role
The tester operates within an agile team in one of Svenska kraftnät's larger programs in the implementation phase. The role focuses on ensuring quality in the development, maintenance, and management of system solutions, including applications related to control systems.
The role involves working closely with the business, developers, and other stakeholders to understand needs, review and clarify requirements, and ensure that these are testable and verifiable. The tester is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and documenting tests at multiple levels, with particular focus on system and acceptance testing. The work includes functional testing, integration testing, as well as support during troubleshooting, retesting, and regression testing.
The tester actively contributes in all phases of the project to ensure that testing and quality are continuously considered, reports status, risks, and deviations, and verifies actions prior to delivery. The role also includes participation in test automation and collaboration around CI/CD flows where relevant. In addition to operational testing, the tester contributes to the continuous improvement of testing processes, working methods, and quality through analysis of test results and sharing of experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develops test strategies
- Conducts tests at multiple test levels, such as functional tests and integration tests, with a primary focus on system testing and acceptance testing. Reports status, risks, and deviations in a structured manner.
- Contributes to testability through requirements review and ensures traceability between requirements, test cases, and identified defects.
- Designs, documents, and executes test cases with test data and checklists for various test levels, test environments, security, and release verification.
- Reports, follows up, and verifies deviations through active participation in triage, retesting, and regression testing.
- Participates in test automation and works together with development to integrate tests into CI/CD flows where applicable.
- Documents test results and contributes to the basis for test reports and decision support prior to delivery.
- Supports troubleshooting and management by verifying corrections, patches, and changes in the system.
- Contributes with testing and quality perspectives in design and implementation discussions within the team.
- Communicates clearly regarding test results, risks, and quality-related recommendations to teams and relevant stakeholders.
Competence Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- University education of 120 credits/180 ECTS in IT. Or at least 10 years of relevant work experience in system development or IT architecture that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience, from the last 10 years, in system development.
- At least 5 years of experience working actively with system testing and acceptance testing of IT systems or software, including work with requirements analysis and review of requirements from a testing and quality perspective. The experience should be linked to projects where IT systems have been built, changed, or maintained.
- At least 5 years of experience in test design, including the creation of test cases, test data, and structured test scenarios.
- Documented experience of working according to established test strategies and test plans for complex systems or integration solutions.
- At least 3 years of experience planning and conducting integration tests or testing complex information system and/or environmental architectures.
- At least 3 years of experience working with testing in agile teams (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), including planning, execution, and follow-up of testing activities within IT or system development projects.
Additional Requirements:
- Documented experience of working with deviation management, test follow-up, and traceability in tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent.
- Documented experience of working with and further developing test automation and integrating automated tests into CI/CD flows (e.g., Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or equivalent), in collaboration with development teams.
- The consultant has worked in environments with high demands for security, robustness, or operational stability, such as the energy sector, defense sector, or equivalent.
Assignment Information
Assignment period: 4/5 2026 - 28/4 2028
Extension option: 1+1 year
Scope: 100%
Location: Svenska kraftnät's office in Sundbyberg.
Security Clearance: Security clearance and background check are required.
