About Villa Höjden

Villa Höjden is a newly built and modern nursing home that was completed in early 2022 and is part of the new residential area Ekebäckshöjd. The residence is close to both Slottsskogen and the district of Majorna.

The residence has five floors and there are 90 pleasant, spacious, and bright apartments. On each floor, there are 18 apartments distributed over two units, as well as a shared kitchen and balcony. We have three floors for dementia patients and two for somatic (physical) care.

On the 7th floor, there is a party room with direct access to a fantastic rooftop terrace with a wonderful view. There is also a spa room for foot and hair care, as well as a view of Gothenburg's harbor entrance, Älvsborg Bridge, Karlatornet, and more. There is also a large terrace on the 1st floor, where we have our parties and entertainment, eat, grill, and have other fun activities.

• We are a dementia-certified residence, which means that all of us who work here are trained in dementia and interaction through Vardaga's Dementia Academy.
• We have a collaboration with the company Ung Omsorg. This means that a team of young people aged 14–18 visits us on weekends and holidays. Ung Omsorg organizes various activities to enhance the lives of our residents.
• You have a team leader who spends most of their time working closely with you in the operation. Becoming a team leader can also be a career opportunity for you as a nursing assistant.
• Here we collaborate with an activity pedagogue who enhances the lives of our residents; we always have activities going on, and we also have animals in care, including Otto, our therapy dog.

As a nursing assistant, you are incredibly important!

Your task is to provide quality of life. With your help, our residents can maintain their lifestyle and habits. You see each person and interpret what they need. At the same time, you learn a lot about care, aging, and how to interact with people.

”It is primarily about meeting people, being able to adapt and read what people need. You get colleagues and learn a lot about teamwork! There are often many fun things happening, activities, and outings.

You are closest to the resident and thus have a key role in the team with the nurse, occupational therapist, and physiotherapist. You also participate in care planning and write social documentation.

We prefer that you are a trained nursing assistant and have worked a few years in elderly care. Good computer skills and experience in documentation are also merits. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing is a requirement, but otherwise, your CV is not the most important.
