Intelligence and Security Officer
Do you want a meaningful job and contribute to a safer Sweden in an uncertain world? The changing global situation means that our defense needs to be strengthened, and the increased intelligence activities against Sweden and the Armed Forces are extensive. The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) conducts defense intelligence operations and military intelligence and security services to support Swedish foreign, defense, and security policy, as well as for mapping external threats to Sweden.
About the Unit
Must staff supports C Must and coordinates operations so that C Must can effectively exercise its functional and operational responsibilities both within the Armed Forces and within total defense. You will belong to the duty officer function, which is part of the coordination section in Must staff. The duty officer function is a shared resource within Must, consisting of engaged and competent colleagues with different backgrounds and skills that complement each other. The function is characterized by dedicated personnel with a high degree of responsibility and professionalism. The position is open for applications from both military and civilian candidates.
Main Responsibilities
As an intelligence and security officer at Must's duty officer function, you will serve during regular office hours as part of maintaining Must's basic preparedness. Your tasks will include situation monitoring within the framework of Must's duty officer function and, if necessary, initiating case management and ensuring that Must's leadership is kept updated. In this role, you will represent Must both internally within the Armed Forces and externally, serving as a point of contact with other parts of the Armed Forces and other authorities regarding intelligence and security matters. Additional responsibilities include functional development of the duty officer function and being responsible for training personnel to maintain Must's basic preparedness.
Qualifications
- Officer's degree (OF/OR) or a civilian university degree in relevant fields
- Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Experience working within or collaborating with the Armed Forces
- Able to quickly handle emerging issues and coordinate activities
- Ability to create and maintain good relationships internally and externally
- Good knowledge of Office packages
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in intelligence and/or security services
- Experience from international missions or international cooperation
- Experience in functional development (streamlining work processes and routines)
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who works in a structured manner and has high demands for order and tidiness. At the same time, you should not have any problems with changing pace, and you have the ability to take initiative and act despite sometimes lacking information. You have a very good security awareness and work with high integrity. You are a team player with a good ability to cooperate with different personality types and organizational cultures. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
The above qualifications must be verifiable upon request through certificates, references, and work or selection tests.
