Interim Accountant for Non-Profit Organization

SJR is now hiring an Interim Accountant for a non-profit organization located in Södermalm, central Stockholm. The assignment starts in early March and is initially for 4 months with a chance of extension thereafter. The company applies a hybrid setup where you are expected to work on-site at the office three days a week, the remaining time can be worked from home if desired.

About the Position

You will be part of an engaged finance team in a project-intensive organization, located on Östgötagatan. The role suits you if you have a few years of experience in accounting and thrive in an environment with clear processes, international elements, and continuous information flow. You will work in a team consisting of a total of 6 people.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping and manage transactions
• Administer expenses, receipts, and travel reimbursements
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations
• Record transactions in foreign currencies
• Manage grant and project payments
• Communicate with banks regarding payment inquiries
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Collaborate with colleagues for accurate and up-to-date financial reporting

Suitable Background

We are looking for someone with approximately three years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization or in construction/industries with project-intensive operations. You have a relevant post-secondary education in finance and are confident in basic accounting principles. Experience with Maconomy is highly desirable, as well as experience from international contexts or project accounting. You are proficient in Excel and fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
