In Ludvika, children and youth are important! We demonstrate this by making children and youth the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and youth have been gathered under one committee. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and also individual and family care. A common feature of all activities is a conscious quality effort to constantly develop and improve work with children and youth.

Are you our new special educator?

We are looking for a licensed special educator for Lorensberg School 7-9.

The Workplace

Lorensberg School is a dynamic middle school with approximately 430 students and a staff of about 60 dedicated employees. We take pride in our diversity, where both staff and students have roots from all corners of the world, enriching our daily life and creating an international atmosphere.

Responsibilities

As a special educator with us, you will have a varied and responsible everyday life. You will work closely with students and strategically with colleagues and management. Your main tasks include:

  • Teaching: You will meet students in both smaller groups and in the classroom, focusing on creating accessible learning environments.
  • Documentation & Analysis: You are responsible for conducting assessments and establishing action plans that truly make a difference in the student's everyday life.
  • Student Health: As an important part of our Student Health Team (EHT), you contribute your pedagogical perspective to promote health and learning throughout the school.
  • Pedagogical Development: You are a driving force in creating and developing successful learning environments together with other staff.
  • Collaboration: Together with your work team, you are responsible for planning, executing, and documenting students' learning.
  • Mentorship: You have an important role as a mentor, where you follow and support a number of students' academic and social development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed special educator with qualifications for middle school age. You have a solid pedagogical foundation and see close collaboration with colleagues as a natural prerequisite for creating the best conditions for our students.

  • Are meticulous and engaged: You are structured in your work and genuinely enjoy and find it stimulating to work with adolescents in middle school age.
